Boats And Drag Racers Mix At Biloxi, Mississippi Strip

Biloxi, Miss., April 26 - The first Annual Boat at Gulf Coast Drag Strip was held today with a large attendance to view many boats and motors on display. This was the first coast showing of many of these boats and they pre sented a very fine appearance to boat lovers. At 3 O'clock there was a parade of boats down the strip. They were led by e. 1900 MacIntyre pickup truck, followed by a 1903 Cad towing a 1959 boat with a 14 year old girl water sking behind. Eleven boats of various sizes followed behind. Door prize for the day was a 5 1/2 horsepower outboard motor.

Drag racing went fast and furious with many entrants from La., Florid, Miss., ect. Grady Ditsworth went home all smiles as he finally won the coveted prize of Top Eliminatior and he is certainly entitled to the award. He turned the 1320 in 13.88 seconds at 98.90mph.

Little Top Eliminator was very closely contested. In the final leg Frank Marshall lost by a thunder length to Teddy Simon who turned 15.14 seconds with a speed of 92.78 mph.
Next Sunday Biloxi High School day. All teachers and students of Biloxi High school will be guests of the strip.
