Taylor's 121.40 Mph Run Takes T.E. At Biloxi With 'B' Dragster

Biloxi, Miss., May 19 -'Foggy weather kept many of the
competitors at home hunting, but those who braved the weather and
came out to race put on a good show at Gulf Coast Drag Strip.
Danny Taylor copped Top Eliminator trophy with a run of 121.40
mph. Don LiCali in his brand new competition coupe looked mighty
fast in his first time run, and it looked like Taylor might be in
for a rough afternoon. However, on his 3rd run the clutch
disintegrated about 1/2 way down the strip. This removed him from
competition. Even with no clutch, Don went on to coast over the
finish line in 11.92 sec. He expects to come back next Sunday and
set a strip record for his class.
Andy Zanka, state champion of Texas, Louisiana, and Mississippi, ran true to form in his A sports Corv and went home with Little Top Eliminator honors in 13.59 sec. and 110.43 mph. Griff Nolan broke his own record in C sports with an E.T. of 17.29 and a speed of 77.25 mph.
Due to difficulties beyond our control, the Annual Boat Show was
postponed until next Sunday, April 26th. Door prize will be an
outboard motor which retails at about $260.00
